PT100 Temperature Sensor (E3D)
PT100s are high temperature, high accuracy temperature sensors that you can now use on your E3D V6 HotEnd instead of a thermistor or thermocouple. PT100's are able to measure higher temperatures than thermistors - up to 400°C and are more accurate then both thermistors and thermocouples in general. Our PT100 sensors are also very easy to handle, being of a metal cartridge type construction that is secured with a set screw, no more fibreglass sleeving or clamping washer.
These PT100 sensors fit in E3D Hotends that take cartridge-style thermistors, including currently-shipping E3D V6, Lite6 and Chimera. Older versions of these hotends (the thermistor clamping style) are not compatible - but you can grab the updated heater block to make them work (see the related items).
Please be aware that a PT100 is not the same as a thermistor and unless your electronics explicitly supports RTD Sensing devices you will need an amplifier board.
The Ultimaker 2 uses PT100 sensors by default, and this sensor allows you to connect your E3D Hotend and Ultimaker electronics with no alteration to the electronics or firmware of the Ultimaker 2.
